We've Struck Gold. (And Silver, Too.)

The World's Best Olive Oil, Recognized Around the World

At Kosterina, we've always believed that truly exceptional olive oil starts long before it reaches the bottle. It begins with the land, the olives, the harvest, and the incredible producers in Southern Greece who have dedicated generations to perfecting their craft — producing the kind of award-winning Greek olive oil and cold-pressed EVOO that stands apart from everything else on the shelf.

This year, we're incredibly honored that the world's leading olive oil competitions recognized that commitment to quality. Being named among the best extra virgin olive oil producers of 2026 is a reflection of our entire team — from the farmers in the Peloponnese to everyone who packs and ships each bottle. These awards aren't just a celebration of our products — they're a testament to our mission to bring the healthiest, highest-quality extra virgin olive oil to kitchens everywhere.

This is what we call liquid gold:

2026 Awards & Recognition

Olympia Health & Nutrition Awards (Greece)

At the prestigious Ancient Olympia Health & Nutrition Awards, Kosterina was recognized with the Gold Standard of Excellence for High Phenolic Extra Virgin Olive Oil — the top designation for high polyphenol olive oil — honoring the exceptional quality and health benefits of our EVOO.

This recognition is especially meaningful because it celebrates what makes our olive oil unique: its naturally high levels of polyphenols - powerful antioxidants that contribute to olive oil's many health benefits.

Here are some of our team & producers this summer checking in on our harvest :)

London International Olive Oil Competition

Our olive oils were also recognized on the international stage at the London International Olive Oil Competition, where all four of our submitted products came home with an award:

  • Kosterina Original Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Gold Award in Quality
  • Kosterina Organic Everyday Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Silver Award in Quality
  • Kosterina Organic EVOO Shot - Gold Award in Health
  • Kosterina Garlic Olive Oil - Silver Award in Infused Oil

These awards recognize outstanding flavor, craftsmanship, and overall quality among olive oils from around the world.

NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition

Widely considered the most prestigious olive oil competition in the world, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition also honored Kosterina this year with NYIOOC Gold Awards for our cold-pressed EVOO. Both of our signature oils earned awards:

  • Original Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Award Winner
  • Everyday Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Award Winner

To be recognized by NYIOOC is an incredible honor and reinforces our commitment to producing olive oil that is among the very best in the world.

Why These Awards Matter

They validate our belief that olive oil should be harvested early, cold-pressed, rich in naturally occurring polyphenols, and crafted without compromise. They recognize the dedication of the farmers and producers we work alongside in the Peloponnese region of Greece, where generations of expertise are poured into every harvest.

Most importantly, they give our customers confidence that when you choose Kosterina, you're bringing home olive oil that has been recognized by some of the most respected experts in the industry.

We're incredibly grateful to our producers, our partners, and our customers who continue to support our mission. Every award motivates us to keep raising the bar—and to continue sharing some of the world's best extra virgin olive oil with your table.

Thank you for being part of the Kosterina family. Here's to another year of exceptional harvests, incredible flavor, and good health.

Frequently Asked Questions.

What makes high polyphenol olive oil healthier?

High polyphenol olive oil contains elevated levels of naturally occurring antioxidants called polyphenols, including oleocanthal and oleacein. These compounds are linked to anti-inflammatory properties, cardiovascular benefits, and cellular protection. To qualify as high polyphenol, an olive oil must contain at least 250 mg/kg of polyphenols — Kosterina's cold-pressed EVOO consistently tests well above that threshold thanks to early-harvest Koroneiki olives from the Peloponnese region of Greece.

What is the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition?

The NYIOOC (New York International Olive Oil Competition) is widely regarded as the most prestigious olive oil quality competition in the world. Held annually in New York, it evaluates hundreds of oils from dozens of countries. An NYIOOC Gold Award is one of the highest honors an extra virgin olive oil producer can receive, signaling exceptional flavor, freshness, and quality standards.

What does cold-pressed EVOO mean?

Cold-pressed EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) means the olives are pressed into oil using only mechanical means — no heat or chemicals — at temperatures below 27°C (80°F). This preserves the oil's natural polyphenols, flavor compounds, and nutrients. Kosterina's extra virgin olive oil is cold-pressed from early-harvest Koroneiki olives, which is why it has a characteristically robust, peppery finish and an exceptionally high polyphenol content.

Where is Kosterina olive oil made?

Kosterina sources its olives exclusively from the Peloponnese region of southern Greece, one of the world's premier olive-growing regions. The olives — 100% Koroneiki variety — are harvested early in the season and cold-pressed within hours of picking to lock in maximum freshness, flavor, and polyphenol content.
