Reviews Summary
Customers say this balsamic vinegar has exceptional flavor that's rich, thick, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. Many mention its syrupy consistency that doesn't run off food like thinner vinegars. Users frequently describe it as the best they've ever tasted, comparing it favorably to expensive aged varieties and even those from Italy. Common uses include salads, bread dipping, vegetables, and marinades. Many customers report becoming repeat purchasers and giving bottles as gifts. The pour spout design receives praise for easy dispensing. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one customer found it too sweet.

Ask Us Anything

All your Kosterina questions answered.

How is Kosterina Balsamic different from supermarket balsamic?

Kosterina Balsamic Vinegar is made in Modena, Italy under a protected geographic designation (PGI) -- the only region authorised to produce authentic balsamic vinegar. Aged around 6 years in 30-year-old oak barrels. Made from 100% Trebbiano and Lambrusco grape must -- no added sugar, caramel, or thickeners. Most supermarket balsamics are wine vinegar blended with caramel and sugar.

Is balsamic vinegar healthy?

Authentic aged balsamic vinegar is rich in antioxidants and acetic acid. Research links acetic acid to healthier post-meal blood sugar levels, improved digestion, and cardiovascular support. Balsamic vinegar contains no cholesterol, and is naturally low in sodium. Kosterina Balsamic Vinegar contains no added sugars, caramel, or thickeners -- just aged grape must from Modena.

Is sugar added to Kosterina Balsamic Vinegar?

No -- zero added sugar. All sweetness comes naturally from Trebbiano and Lambrusco grape must through ageing and fermentation. Many commercial balsamics add caramel colouring and sugar to mimic aged balsamic flavor. Kosterina does not.

How do I use balsamic vinegar?

Kosterina Balsamic Vinegar is exceptionally versatile: drizzle over salads with our EVOO for an instant dressing, use as a marinade for chicken, salmon, or roasted vegetables, reduce on the stovetop for a glaze, finish grilled meats or burrata, or even drizzle over fresh strawberries or vanilla ice cream. Its natural sweetness and acidity require no additions. Visit kosterina.com/recipes for Mediterranean-inspired ideas.

What is balsamic vinegar made from?

Authentic balsamic vinegar -- including Kosterina's -- is made exclusively from grape must: whole crushed grapes (skins, seeds, and juice) cooked down and aged in wooden barrels. Kosterina uses Trebbiano (white) and Lambrusco (red) grapes from Modena, Italy. No wine vinegar, no caramel, no added sugar -- just pure aged grape must.

Does balsamic vinegar need to be refrigerated?

No. Store Kosterina Balsamic Vinegar in a cool, dry place -- a pantry or cupboard is ideal. Refrigeration is not recommended and not necessary. Proper room-temperature storage preserves flavor and texture.
