Ask Us Anything

All your Kosterina questions answered.

Can I cook with Kosterina Everyday EVOO at high heat?

Yes. Organic Everyday EVOO has a smoke point above 425F -- ideal for sauteing, roasting, baking, grilling, and frying. Despite the common myth, high-quality high-polyphenol EVOO is one of the most heat-stable cooking oils available. It is also USDA Certified Organic.

What is the difference between the Everyday EVOO and Original EVOO?

Kosterina Original EVOO (white bottle) has a bold, peppery flavor and a polyphenol count of 500+ mg/kg -- best for drizzling, dipping, and finishing dishes where no heat is applied. The Organic Everyday EVOO (blue bottle) has a smoother, more neutral flavor, 350+ mg/kg polyphenols, and is USDA Certified Organic -- designed for high-heat cooking up to 425F. Simple rule: white bottle on your table, blue bottle next to your stove.

Is the Everyday EVOO certified organic?

Yes. Kosterina Organic Everyday EVOO is USDA Certified Organic, produced with no herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilisers. Made from 100% early-harvest Koroneiki olives grown in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece.

What is the healthiest oil to cook with?

High-polyphenol extra virgin olive oil is widely considered the gold standard for healthy cooking. Unlike seed oils (canola, vegetable, sunflower), EVOO is predominantly monounsaturated fat, which is highly stable at heat and does not oxidise into harmful compounds. Kosterina Organic Everyday EVOO has 350+ mg/kg polyphenols and a smoke point above 425F -- delivering health benefits even when used for cooking.

Is organic olive oil better than regular olive oil?

Organic certification means the olives were grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers -- reducing your exposure to chemical residues. Beyond certification, what matters most for health benefits is polyphenol content: Kosterina Organic Everyday EVOO has 350+ mg/kg polyphenols, significantly above most organic and non-organic competitors. You get both the certification and the nutritional quality.

How much olive oil should I use when cooking?

For sauteing and pan cooking, 1-2 tablespoons per serving is typically sufficient. For roasting vegetables or proteins, 2-3 tablespoons per pound is a good rule. Because Kosterina Organic Everyday EVOO is high-polyphenol and full-flavored, a little goes a long way. There is no need to use it sparingly -- research shows that liberal daily EVOO consumption is associated with the strongest health benefits.
